At approximately 1:50 p.m., a FedEx truck driver had been headed eastbound on Ottawa upon entering the intersection of Second Avenue. As the driver proceeded through the cross streets he was suddenly hit by a Chevy Sonic headed southbound on Second Avenue.
The driver of the Chevy was determined to have blown through the stop sign at a high rate of speeds causing the crash.
The FedEx truck drifted off the road onto its side ejecting the man from his vehicle, fortunately, avoiding major catastrophic injuries.
Reports indicated that the victim who has not been identified by name was transported by ambulance to Desert Valley Med Center, where his current condition remains unclear.
The incident is currently under investigation as the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will be manning the investigation.
