VICTORVILLE: Gary Julien, 44, of La Verne Killed in Crash with Big Rig

Car and Big Rig Truck Crash on Interstate 15 Freeway at Bell Mountain Exit

VICTORVILLE, California (April 9, 2014) –  Gary Julien, 44, of La Verne was killed Tuesday morning in a collision with a big rig truck on the westbound Interstate 15 Freeway, roughly a half a mile south of exit 157 between Stoddard Wells Road and Bell Mountain exit, according to a press release by the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.

About 6:31 a.m., California Highway Patrol officers responded to a 911 call about a vehicle that had struck a semi-tractor trailer truck before veering off the roadway and rolling down a dirt embankment. The impact caused Julien, who was not wearing a seatbelt, to be ejected from his 1992 Isuzu Rodeo and he died at the scene, the report said.

CHP officers are heading up the investigation into how the accident was caused and will ultimately determine liability for the crash.
