8 Injured in Victorville Hit-and-Run Crash at Amethyst and Luna Roads
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 23, 2021) – Several were injured after a hit-and-run crash at Amethyst and Luna roads in Victorville.
According to an article published by the Victor Valley News, the accident occurred on Friday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck at around 3:51 p.m.
Witnesses claimed that the incident began when a black Chevy Tahoe was traveling at a high rate of speed in the area. The speeding car then ran a red light.
In the process, the Chevy Tahoe t-boned a sedan. The two collided at the intersection of Amethyst and Luna roads in Victorville.
Officials said multiple vehicles became involved in the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated two trapped occupants from their vehicles.
Speeding Driver Hits Another Car, Flees Scene
A total of eight people, including a woman and her three children riding the sedan, ended up hurt as a result of the crash. Two victims suffered critical injuries upon impact.
Air ambulances took both to a hospital for treatment. Ground ambulances rushed the other six patients to area hospitals, including two with minor wounds.
Officers did not release the names of all the wounded parties and their condition at this time. Meanwhile, the male driver of the Chevy fled on foot and left one of his passengers with a broken leg.
Deputies soon located the motorist in an adjacent neighborhood. They also forced the roadway to shut down following the hit-and-run crash.
