Motorcyclist Fighting for Life After Car Turns Left in Front of Bike
VICTORVILLE, Calif. (May 30, 2018) — A man believed to be 22 years old riding a motorcycle was struck and critically injured Wednesday morning in a collision with a vehicle on Palmdale Road just east of Park Avenue , according to the Victor Valley News.
The crash took place about 10 a.m. in Victorville. The victim, who was riding a 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle, collided with a driver in a black 2016 Dodge Challenger.
The rider was airlifted to a trauma center in grave condition. He suffered major facial injuries and was not responsive. Police say the driver in the Dodge was attempting to turn left into a 76 Gas Station and allegedly cut off the motorcyclist who was riding eastbound on Palmdale Road.
Police closed down the roadway between Park Avenue and the Interstate 15 Freeway to conduct an extensive investigation into the crash. The driver of the Dodge stopped and was questioned by police at the scene.
Victorville Accident Investigation
Police are investigating this collision to determine the cause and liability. At this time, it’s apparent that the driver who attempted to make a left-hand turn in front of the motorcycle, is likely to be considered at fault. The motorcycle rider appears to have had the right-of-way. This incident remains under police investigation.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to the rider who was hurt in this crash.
If a negligent driver or another entity is at fault for a collision resulting in injuries to you or a loved one, there may be grounds for a personal injury or wrongful death claim. Oftentimes, drivers will try to blame a motorcycle rider for a collision and insurance companies will fight claims made by them. That’s why it’s important to have an experienced attorney who will fight for you and ensure your legal rights are protected.
While this is always a personal decision, for many the financial losses associated with a traffic accident are significant.
