The accident was reported about 6:05 p.m., near Stoddard Wells.
As per the article, the sheriff’s department said 28-year-old Dayne Michaels was riding a motorcycle when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Michaels was then found down on the highway following the collision. He was airlifted to Loma Linda Medical Center with unspecified injuries.
The condition of the 28-year-old Lucerne Valley man was not immediately disclosed.
Meanwhile, the driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the scene.
Authorities are gathering more information and evidence to locate the hit-and-run motorist.
