Hit-and-Run Driver Vincent Munoz, 29, Seriously Injures Pedestrian in Merced
MERCED, CA (April 22, 2021) – Authorities detained Vincent Munoz after a hit-and-run crash near Martin Luther King Jr. Way and 12th Street in Merced.
Police identified the 29-year-old man as the suspect in the accident that seriously injured a pedestrian on Sunday, April 18.
According to The Merced Sun Star and Merced GW News, the incident happened when Vincent Munoz was driving a white 2009 GMC Sierra.
Police said for an unknown reason, he struck a 61-year-old man. The GMC hit the victim near the intersection of Martin Luther King Jr. Way and West 12th Street.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and found the pedestrian left lying on the ground as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then rushed him to a hospital for treatment of major injuries. Officials did not release the name of the patient and his condition at this time.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that Vincent Munoz did not stop to render aid to the man and fled the area. Officers soon arrested him on suspicion of felony hit-and-run.
