Compton Man Killed in Santa Ana Pedestrian Accident
SANTA ANA, Calif. (Oct. 4, 2018) — Vincent Shaw, 38, of Compton, has been identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed Tuesday in a crash on the freeway, according to the Orange County Sheriff Coroner.
The collision between the pedestrian and vehicle was reported at 5:40 a.m. on Oct. 2nd and the victim died upon impact, the report said. Prior to the collision, Shaw was seen walking between the carpool lane and the fast lane on the northbound 55 Freeway just south of 17th Street. The driver of the Honda Accord who struck him suffered minor injuries and the vehicle had front-end damage.
The crash remains under investigation by police to determine fault.
