Vincent Verzosa, 64, Killed in Sonoma Valley Crash on Highway 12
SONOMA VALLEY, CA (September 8, 2022) – Vincent Verzosa was killed after a car crash on Highway 12 in Sonoma Valley.
The sheriff’s office identified the 64-year-old Santa Rosa man as the victim of the fatal wreck which took place on Monday.
The incident happened when Vincent Verzosa was driving a Subaru Outback on Highway 12, just east of Nuns Canyon Road, in Sonoma Valley.
For an unknown reason, a Mercedes sedan traveling in the opposite direction drifted into oncoming lanes. CHP said in the process, the Mercedes slammed head-on into the Subaru.
2 Seriously Injured in Wreck
The Outback rolled over due to the impact of the collision. The Press Democrat wrote that the accident occurred on September 5 at about 2:30 p.m. between Glen Ellen and Kenwood.
Vincent Verzosa died at the scene of the crash. His passenger and the driver of the Mercedes, a Sonoma man, sustained major injuries as a result of the incident.
Paramedics rushed both patients to the hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, CHP forced a stretch of Highway 12 to shut down for a time following the wreck.
The cause of the Sonoma Valley crash is still under investigation is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the CHP at 707-588-1400.
