Pedestrian Killed in Car Accident in Hoopa Area
HOOPA, California (May 19, 2021) –Virgil McLaughlin Jr., 29, of Hoopa, died Sunday night in a Hoopa pedestrian accident on Tish Tang Road.
The man was killed in a collision about 7:45 p.m. on May 16th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision happened near Airport Road as Virgil McLaughlin Jr. walked along Tish Tang Road, police said.
A southbound vehicle driven by Jerome Pollara struck the victim due to undisclosed circumstances.

Paramedics responded and performed CPR on the injured pedestrian.
Unfortunately, despite their efforts, Virgil McLaughlin Jr. succumbed to his injuries at the scene, according to the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office.
Meanwhile, police do not suspect the driver was under the influence of drugs and or alcohol and no arrests were made.
Finally, investigators seek to determine fault for the fatal Hoopa pedestrian accident.
