At 9:30 a.m., 54-year-old Visalia resident Brian Adney was driving a 2002 Dodge pickup truck when he lost control and drove toward two CalTrans workers who were just returning to their truck after doing maintenance work.
Adney struck one of the crew members and allowed the vehicle to veer off the road and overturn.
One CalTrans victim sustained serious injuries as it is believed both of his legs are broken. He was identified as 63-year-old Fresno resident Arturo Seballa Jr. whose condition upgraded to serious from critical.
The other Caltrans employee, 49-year-old Tulare resident Mark Peton, sustained minor injuries.
Adney and his passenger, 56-year-old Gregory Joseph Rosenberger, became pinned inside the pickup. Rosenberger, of Tulare, did not survive the collision.
