1 Killed, 2 Hospitalized After Collision on Highway 198
Visalia, CA (November 2, 2022) – One person died, and two others suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 198, according to Your Central Valley News.
Earlier reports indicated a motorcycle and an SUV collided in the eastbound side of the highway in Visalia Wednesday afternoon. Preliminary investigation revealed a rider and their passenger were on a motorbike heading east on SR-198. Officials said an SUV was also traveling in the same lane of the highway. For reasons still unclear, the rider was not able to control their speed and crashed into the back of the SUV.
The force from the impact ejected the rider, and their passenger onto the pavement. Emergency crews arrived at the scene shortly after 4:30 p.m., and immediately rendered aid to all parties involved in the wreck.
Per local news source, the operator of the motorbike sadly died at the scene. Authorities continue to withhold the identity of the deceased pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the motorcycle passenger, and the driver of the SUV both sustained injuries in the accident. Medical personal transported the two patients to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole afternoon. They continue to investigate the precise cause of the deadly crash that happened on Highway 198 in Visalia.
