Boy, 14, Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Riggin Avenue Friday
Visalia, CA (November 2, 2020) – A 14-year-old boy died following a traffic accident that occurred on Riggin Avenue on October 30, Friday.
The Visalia Times Delta reported the juvenile was riding his skateboard on Riggin Avenue around 9:45 p.m. In the area just west of Shirk Road in northwest Visalia, a vehicle reportedly struck the boy.
Officials mentioned the crash site is part of the Visalia Industrial Park and connects northwest Visalia homes around Denton Elementary School.

Shortly after the incident, medical personnel responded to the location and rendered aid to the skateboarder. Paramedics later confirmed the boy sadly died as a result of the crash.
Authorities later identified the driver involved as 29-year-old Heath Burkhead. The motorist stayed at the scene after the collision and cooperated with the investigation process.
Detectives assigned to handle the case continue to work to determine liability in the deadly skateboard accident in Visalia.
