Man, 36, Killed; Girl, 9, Seriously Injured
VISALIA. Calif. (July 10, 2023) – A motorcycle rider died and several others were injured in a traffic accident involving an SUV Sunday on Highway 201 and Road 176 in Visalia, Tulare County.
The two-vehicle collision occurred on Sunday, July 9th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The 36-year-old motorcyclist was riding with a nine-year-old girl as his passenger, the report said.
Authorities believe the rider was traveling faster than other motorists at the time of the collision. The bike reportedly crashed into the side of an SUV due to unknown circumstances, according to a report by KSEE/KGPE.
The motorcycle rider died and his nine-year-old passenger suffered major injuries. Paramedics responded and transported her to the hospital. Meanwhile, one of the passengers from the SUV also suffered injuries and was taken to the hospital.
Authorities did not identified the motorcyclist or the child, but both are from Dinuba.
Additionally, there it’s unknown if any of the other six people from the SUV were hurt. The occupants were ages six to 45 years old and were all from Dublin, Ohio.
The cause of the crash and liability remains under investigation.
