Major Injury Motorcycle, Pickup Truck Crash on State Route 99
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (August 23, 2024) — A major injury motorcycle accident in Visalia happened Friday morning on northbound Highway 99, just south of Avenue 280.
The California Highway Patrol reported the rider went down in a collision about 7:30 a.m. on August 23rd, following a collision with a Ford Ranger pickup truck.
Several other motorcycle riders and other motorists stopped to help the injured biker.
Meanwhile, the CHP report stated the Ford pickup truck had major front-end damage after hitting the fully-dressed Harley Davidson bike.
Tulare County Fire sent paramedics to help the injured rider and transport him to a hospital. The motorcyclist suffered a broken leg and possibly other injuries, the report said.
Tow trucks removed the bike and the pickup truck from the highway.
The Visalia CHP is heading up the investigation into what happened and will determine fault.
