2-Vehicle Collision on State Route 78 in Vista

VISTA, Calif. (Jan. 30, 2024) — A two-vehicle Vista car accident happened Tuesday afternoon on State Route Highway 78, just east of Emerald Drive.

The collision occurred on eastbound SR-78 at around 1:49 p.m. on Jan. 30th in San Diego County, according to a California Highway Patrol report.

CHP Reports Crash on SR-78 in Vista

One of the driver’s iPhone’s sent an automatic notification about the collision to CHP dispatch operators who sent out police and paramedics to the scene.

The drivers of a black Toyota 4Runner SUV and a silver Saturn were involved, but it’s unknown what led to the accident.

At least one of the vehicles required a tow truck.

Investigators are working to determine liability.
