Vehicle Strikes, Kills Pedestrian Near Emerald Drive
Vista, CA (April 6, 2022) – A pedestrian died following a traffic accident that occurred on State Route 78 on April 2.
The San Diego Union-Tribune reported a vehicle struck a male party early Saturday morning. Our sources indicated the pedestrian was seen walking in the westbound lanes of SR-78. In the area near Emerald Drive, an oncoming Dodge Journey SUV struck the man. The horrible crash took place at approximately 3 a.m.
Fatal Pedestrian Accident on State Route 78 in Vista
When emergency crews arrived at the site, they immediately rendered aid to the victim found lying on the ground. Responding paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and eventually passed away. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the identity of the deceased remained undisclosed.
Detectives stayed at the scene the whole morning. They continue to investigate exactly how and why the deadly pedestrian accident happened on State Route 78 in Vista.
