Woman Pinned Under Vehicle After Collision on South Melrose Drive
Vista, CA (October 14, 2022) – One person suffered injuries following a traffic accident that occurred on South Melrose Drive.
Electric Scooter vs. Car Accident in Vista
According to FOX5 and San Diego Union-Tribune, an SUV struck a woman riding an electric scooter in the 1600 block of Melrose Drive. Earlier reports indicated the rider was crossing the entrance of a bank parking lot. At about the same time, the driver of the Mitsubishi Outlander exited the lot. Both motorists did not see each other, leading to the collision.
The article published online mentioned the SUV dragged the woman and her scooter a short distance. Shortly after 8 p.m., firefighters arrived at the site and worked immediately to extricate the woman trapped underneath the Mitsubishi Outlander.
After the victim was pulled out, medical personnel transported her to a hospital. Personal information on the patient remained undisclosed pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.
The occupants in the SUV appeared unharmed after the crash.
Detectives handling the case continue to investigate at this time the precise cause of the traffic accident that happened on South Melrose Drive in Vista.
