Man Injured in Vista Parking Lot Hit-and-Run on Santa Fe Avenue
VISTA, CA (October 5, 2021) – A pedestrian was hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash in a Vista parking lot on South Santa Fe Avenue.
According to The San Diego Union-Tribune and FOX 5 News, the accident took place late Tuesday afternoon. Officers reported the collision at about 5 p.m.
The sheriff’s department said a male pedestrian became pinned underneath a Toyota pickup truck in the parking lot of AutoZone in Vista.

The man ended up trapped under the car in the 900 block of South Santa Fe Avenue near Civic Center Drive. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and freed him.
An air ambulance then took the victim to the Palomar Medical Center in Escondido for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not disclose his name and condition at this time.
Meanwhile, deputies affirmed that the driver of Toyota abandoned the car and fled on foot. Officers forced the parking lot on Santa Fe to close following the collision.
