San Pedro Man Killed in Watts Hit-and-Run Crash

 Viviano Castaneda Fatal Watts Hit-and-run Pedestrian Accident Grandee Ave, 103rd StreetWATTS, Calif. (April 25, 2022) – Viviano Castaneda, 60 , of San Pedro, died Friday in a hit-and-run pedestrian accident near Ted Watkins Memorial Park in Watts.

The deadly, crash happened about 2:35 a.m. on Friday, April 22nd, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

Castaneda was reportedly walking in the roadway at Grandee Avenue and East 103rd Street, police said.

A driver traveling south on Grandee Avenue struck the San Pedro man, according to a police department press release.

Next, the driver fled the scene without stopping to provide aid to the dying man, police said.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and pronounced the man dead.

Police describe the suspect’s vehicle as a white-colored, early model sedan with tinted windows.

They are asking anyone with information about the crash or suspect to contact LAPD South Traffic Division Officer Lopez Del Haro or Officer Hurd at 323-421-2500.
