Major Traffic Collision at Highway 395 and Red Rock Road
Lassen County, CA (April 21, 2022) – Wade Mitchell, a 60-year-old Herlong resident, suffered injuries following a traffic crash that occurred in the area of Highway 395 and Red Rock Road.
On February 24, Mitchell was driving a 2000 Subaru Outback heading north on US-395. When the Subaru drove through an intersection, it collided with a 2008 Ford Escape traveling west on Red Rock Road. For reasons still under investigation, the two motorists drove at the same time into the crossing.
The accident took place at approximately 1 p.m.

Responding medical personnel immediately rendered aid to all the occupants in both the Subaru and the Ford. The article published online by the Plumas News reported three people, including Wade Mitchell, sustained injuries as a result of the wreck. An ambulance transported the patient to Renown Medical Center for treatment and further evaluation.
Several factors surrounding the incident remained unclear. At this time, detectives continue to investigate the precise cause of the crash at Highway 395 and Red Rock Road.
