Pedestrian Killed in Hit-and-run Crash ID’d as Wakeen Best, 37
NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. (August 30, 2021) – Wakeen Best, 37, died in a hit-and-run crash at Watt Avenue and Roseville Road in North Highlands.
The fatal collision happened about 11:50 p.m. on Thursday, August 26th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officers reported the accident where a vehicle struck thepedestrian for an unknown reason. The driver struck the victim at the intersection of Watt Avenue and Roseville Road in North Highlands.

Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Sacramento McClellan Airport. They found the pedestrian suffering from major injuries due to the incident.
Also, medical personnel treated at the scene, but unfortunately he died of his injuries.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victim and fled the area. Officers forced the intersection of Watt Avenue and Roseville Road to close following the collision.
