Contra Costa Fire Department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to at least one person who was confirmed to have been injured as a result of the wreck. The name and the extent of the injuries sustained by the victim were not disclosed.

Meanwhile, a driver involved did not stop to render aid and fled the area. The suspect car was described as a dark gray Toyota Tundra, between 2009 and 2013 model, which sustained front-end damage upon impact.

Authorities are gathering more information and evidence to locate the hit-and-run suspect.

Personal Injury Lawyer

Most traffic accidents which involve a motorist who flees the scene can be subjected to serious criminal charges, especially when a particular crash causes injuries to another person. Such circumstances are likely considered as “felony hit-and-run,” leaving the victim a legal right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the at-fault individual.

Drivers who are involved in car collisions are obliged to stop and provide assistance to the injured individuals and to cooperate with the authorities. In this case, a motorist took off and left at least one motorcyclist wounded in the roadway. The motorcycle rider has likely a right to pursue a claim seeking a compensation for all the hospital bills, future medical needs, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
