Wan Huang, 75, Victim in Union City Hit-and-Run
LOCATION: Union City
DATE OF INCIDENT: Tuesday, May 22nd
May 29, 2018- According to SF Bay News, a woman identified as Wan Huang, 75, of Union City, was the victim of a fatal pedestrian hit-and-run occurring at a crosswalk earlier last week.
Union City police officials reported the collision at 9:00 p.m. on Alvarado-Niles Road at or near Mann Avenue.
A man identified as Mike Tanios, 29, of Fremont, had been driving in a GMC pickup truck before hitting the elderly woman and proceeding to flee the scene.
The 75-year-old woman and Union City resident sadly did not survive and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Meanwhile, Tanios returned to the scene approximately 20 minutes following the collision and turned himself in admitting to being the party responsible.

Authorities have since arrested Tanios on charges of “felony leaving the scene” as he was taken to Fremont City Jail with a bail of $5,000.
