Wang Jiuxiang, 75, Killed in Half Moon Bay Crash on Kelly Avenue

HALF MOON BAY, CA (February 10, 2023) – Bicycle rider, Wang Jiuxiang, was killed after a crash on Kelly Avenue in Half Moon Bay.

The coroner’s office identified the 75-year-old Half Moon Bay man as the victim of the fatal accident which took place on Thursday.

The incident happened when Wang Jiuxiang was riding a bicycle on Kelly Avenue in Half Moon Bay. For an unknown reason, a 2001 gold GMC Yukon struck him.

Deputies said the car hit the bicyclist in the 500 block of Kelly Avenue. Paramedics arrived at the scene and then found him down on the ground.

Bicyclist Hit by Unlicensed Driver

The KRON 4 News and CBS San Francisco wrote that the collision occurred on January 9 at around 3 p.m. Wang Jiuxiang sustained life-threatening injuries as a result of the bicycle accident.

Medical personnel rushed him to a hospital, where he died. Meanwhile, officers affirmed that the male driver of the GMC was driving without a license when he collided with the cyclist.

They soon arrested and booked the suspect into a correctional facility. Officers forced a stretch of Kelly Avenue to shut down for a time following the incident.

The cause of the Half Moon Bay bicycle crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the sheriff’s office at (650) 363-4881.
