Major Injury, Rollover Crash at Wasco Intersection
WASCO, Calif. (May 20, 2022) — A Wasco car accident involving a semi-tanker truck happened Friday morning at Kimberlina Road and Root Avenue, just east of State Route Highway 43.
Both vehicles overturned in the 5:58 a.m. crash on May 20th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The drivers of a red Ford Explorer SUV and a tanker truck collided due to unknown circumstances. The tanker truck hauling 7,200 gallons of red dye diesel wound up on its side and there is a diesel spill in the roadway.
Meanwhile, both motorists suffered injuries in the collision. The driver of the SUV suffered major injuries and the truck driver had complaints of shoulder pain. Paramedics transported both of them by ambulances to Kern County Medical Center for further treatment.
Tow trucks removed the vehicles and cleanup crews attended to the diesel spill.
