WASCO (October 24, 2016)- According to the California Highway Patrol, a deadly two-vehicle collision took place Sunday morning at Garces Highway and Wildwood Road.
Police officials determined that two pickups, a GMC pickup truck and a Dodge hauling a trailer full of cattle, had collided.
Authorities disclosed that the driver of the Dodge with the cattle identified as Adrian Meza, 35, blew through a stop sign at it headed northbound on Wildwood triggering the crash with the GMC driven by Ernesto Aranda, 42.
A 23-year-old man of Arvin identified as Juvenar Lopez Moreno inside the GMC tragically suffered fatal injuries. He has not been publicly identified as this time.
Several motorists were seriously injured and remained hospitalized as of Monday morning.
The injured parties have since been identified as Antonio Jaramillo, 28, who was a passenger inside of Meza’s vehicle. He was transported to Kern Med Center.
Manuel Ariciga Junior was also inside Meza’s vehicle and seriously injured. He was taken to Delano Regional Med Center.
Both Ernesto Arnada and his passenger, Juan Rodriguez-Najar, were moderately injured.
A total of five cattle inside of Meza’s vehicle were killed as he was believed to have been under the influence and may possibly be charged.
