Teenagers Crash on Way to Don Pedro Reservoir with Alcohol
WATERFORD, California (May 9, 2014) – One person was injured Friday morning after a collision between a pickup truck and two other cars on Highway 132 at N Blossom Road in Stanislaus County, near Modesto, according to a dispatch by the California Highway Patrol.
About 9:02 a.m., CHP officers say a person riding in a red pickup truck was hurt after a collision with the drivers of a red Honda and a white sedan. American Medical Response sent paramedics to the scene of the crash to assist the injured person.
Police say roughly 12 juveniles were involved in the crash and were seen moving an ice chest with a lot of alcohol from one of the vehicles into the pickup truck. A second crash with a black Honda occurred at the scene involving a misdemeanor hit-and-run about 9:43 a.m., CHP said.
Police reported that today was senior ditch day at a local school and the group was on their way to the Don Pedro Reservoir with a lot of alcohol, but some was confiscated by Ceres Police Department.
“Hopefully none of these young people are considering drinking and driving today,” said Attorney James Johnson.
