Tesla and Roofing Truck Crash State Route Highway 1, SR-129
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (Sept. 1, 2021) — A Watsonville crash on Cabrillo Highway 1 and State Route 129 happened Wednesday morning between a Tesla, a white sedan and a roofing truck.
The collision happened about 7:32 a.m. on Sept. 1st near SR-129 also known as Riverside Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Tesla overturned in the collision and a woman was trapped inside of it with its airbags deployed. She complained of neck pain and authorities requested an ambulance. The CHP report did not mention the woman’s age or identity.
The woman told authorities a white sedan struck her vehicle, but failed to stop, the CHP dispatch reports.
The driver in the roofing truck was not injured in the collision.
Police did not mention if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision. Also, they seek to find out if there were any speed or any other traffic violations.
Investigators will determine fault for the Watsonville crash on Highway 1.
