WATSONVILLE (August 8, 2016)- According to a police report, a deadly crash took place Saturday evening in the Las Lomas neighborhood.
The incident took place on Hall Road near Garin Road.
Police officials say that Rafael Rangel, 22, was driving under the influence.
Rangel who had been accompanied by an 18-year-old girl identified as Daynzu Del Carmen Rico Becerra suddenly lost control allowing the car to leave the road before it rolled over down an embankment.
The report disclosed that Becerra sadly did not survive the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Rangel suffered undisclosed injuries and was transported to Natividad Medical Center.
Police officials have since arrested Rangel on suspicion of a DUI among other charges.
