Woman, 61, Killed in Crash on Main Street at East Beach Street
WATSONVILLE (December 25, 2018) – A pedestrian was killed after a traffic accident in the area of Main Street and East Beach Street Monday afternoon, according to KION News and Register Pajaronian.
As per the reports, police said a 61-year-old woman was crossing Main Street when she was struck by a GMC pickup at the intersection with East Beach Street.
The U-Haul truck was making a left turn onto Main Street when it hit the victim in a marked crosswalk. The collision took place on December 24 at about 3 p.m. near Watsonville Plaza.

Paramedics responded to the scene and found the woman lying in the roadway and suffering from major injuries. She was immediately taken to a hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Meanwhile, police affirmed that the 33-year-old woman driving the pickup stopped after hitting the pedestrian and cooperated with the authorities.
The Main Street at Beach Street was forced to shut down following the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
