1 Seriously Injured in Weed Car Crash on Southbound Interstate 5
WEED, CA (November 6, 2020) – At least one ended up seriously injured after a car crash along the Interstate 5 in Weed on Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol dispatch team, officers received a call about the accident at around 6:04 p.m.
The incident began when a white full size Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling southbound on the Interstate 5, just north of Edgewood Road.
CHP said the pickup then apparently swerved to avoid hitting a 400-pound bear on the highway. In the process, a Toyota Corolla also going south collided with the truck.

Fire department officials along with the paramedics responded to the scene and attended to one person who suffered major injuries as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel then transported the patient to the hospital for treatment. CHP did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers mentioned that one of the cars involved rolled over upon impact. They also added that a third vehicle possibly became involved in the incident.
Authorities are still investigating the crash.
