
ESCONDIDO, Calif. (Nov. 28, 2023) — Wesley Blue Breidenthal, 19, of Valley Center, died Friday in a motorcycle accident at Champagne Boulevard and Lawrence Welk Drive in Escondido.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 6:47 p.m. on Nov. 24th, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner.
The young man was driving a Yamaha motorcycle northbound on Champagne Boulevard when another driver in a southbound white Lexus SUV entered the left turn lane and turned into the path of the motorcyclist towards Lawrence Welk Lane.
The SUV collided with the motorcyclist and the young man was thrown from the bike.
Paramedics responded and located the victim unresponsive before they transported him by ambulance to the Palomar Medical Center Emergency Department.
However, despite efforts to save his life, Wesley Breidenthal later died at 7:30 p.m. the same day.
The California Highway Patrol is heading up the investigation into what happened.
