2 Injured in West Carson Hit-and-Run at Carson Street and Vermont Avenue
WEST CARSON, CA (March 13, 2022) – Two were injured after a hit-and-run crash at Carson Street and Vermont Avenue in West Carson.
The California Highway Patrol said the accident took place on Sunday night. According to their dispatch, officers reported the collision at about 9:45 p.m.
The incident happened when a vehicle struck two pedestrians for an unknown reason. The driver hit them at the intersection of Carson Street and Vermont Avenue.
Driver Hits Victims, Flees Scene
Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene near the Harbor UCLA Medical Center. They found the victims hurt as a result of the collision.
Medical personnel treated the patients for the minor injuries they sustained in the incident. The report did not release the names of the wounded parties and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, CHP affirmed that the motorist did not stop to render aid to the victims and fled the area. Officers forced the corner of Carson and Vermont to shut down following the accident.
The cause of the hit-and-run crash is still under investigation.
