Woman, 76, Killed in West Hills Head-On Crash on Woolsey Canyon Road
LOS ANGELES, CA (March 12, 2022) – A woman was killed after a DUI wrong-way crash on Woolsey Canyon Road in West Hills.
According to The Daily News and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck at about 6:15 a.m.
The incident happened when a 2021 Porsche crossed over the double yellow line on Woolsey Canyon Road in the West Hills neighborhood.
In the process, the Porsche slammed head-on into a 2003 Nissan. The California Highway Patrol said the two cars crashed at 24045 Woolsey Canyon near Valley Circle Boulevard.
DUI Wrong-Way Driver Hits Another Car
Firefighters arrived at the scene and found the 76-year-old West Hills woman driving the Nissan hurt. She sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision.
Paramedics then rushed the victim to the Northridge Hospital, where she died. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Medical personnel took the female driver of the Porsche to the West Hills Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. CHP determined she was under the influence when she hit the other car.
They soon arrested the motorist for DUI. Officers forced Woolsey Canyon Road to shut down in both directions for about five hours following the wreck.
