WEST POINT, California (October 5, 2016) — A major injury head-on collision took place Wednesday afternoon between two motorists on Highway 26 (West Point Pioneer Road) at Higdon Road, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 2:12 p.m. Wednesday.
Per an updated article by the California Highway Patrol, Ronald Rankin, 70, of West Point, was traveling westbound on Highway 26 in a 2006 Toyota. At the same time, Lynne Cowan, 60, of West Point, was headed eastbound in a Hyundai before drifting into Rankin’s vehicle.
The crash resulted in serious but non-life-threatening injuries as he was taken to Sutter Roseville Hospital.
Cowan was also injured and transported to Sutter Amador Hospital.
Neither drugs nor alcohol is suspected of being involved.
