WEST SACRAMENTO, California (July 21, 2016) — A motorcycle rider suffered major injuries Thursday morning in a collision with another motorist on the eastbound US 50 Capital City Freeway at the Harbor Boulevard off ramp, a California Highway Patrol report said.
The crash took place about 8:05 a.m. this morning when a rider was reported down in the No. 1 lane of the highway. The report stated a blue Ford Taurus was also involved. There were three other vehicles on the right shoulder whose drivers stopped to assist.
The West Sacramento Fire Department was providing CPR instructions to one of the people at the scene who was helping the injured rider until paramedics arrived. The injured motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital to be treated for major injuries.
The roadway was closed down due to the crash and subsequent cleanup. Police are investigating the cause of the crash and liability.
