1 Pinned in Car After Westley Car Crash Saturday on 5 Freeway
WESTLEY, Stanislaus County (March 4, 2018) – Major injuries were reported following a pileup on both sides of the Interstate 5 Freeway, according to Modesto Bee.
As per the article, about 10 to 15 vehicles were involved in the Saturday afternoon wreck. California Highway Patrol responded and found that several vehicles collided and were off the road in the southbound and northbound lanes of the freeway near Howard Road.

Shortly after 2 p.m., emergency crews arrived at the crash site and immediately attended to the involved parties. Primary reports indicated that the wreck resulted in multiple parties suffering in injuries. Some of the patients were identified as 25-year-old Luis Murillo-Diaz, 63-year-old John Tomassetti, 24-year-old Laura Garcia-Lopez, a 4-year-old girl, and a 1-year-old boy.
The conditions at this time of the patients were not released.
Meanwhile, investigators mentioned that the weather may have played a role in the occurrence of the collision. Hail in the area was reported prior to the accident.
