Pedestrian Killed in Westminster Crash at Hope Street and Bolsa Avenue

WESTMINSTER, CA (October 10, 2022) – A crash killed a pedestrian at Hope Street and Bolsa Avenue in Westminster.

According to The Orange County Tribune and My News LA, the tragic accident took place on Monday morning. Officers reported the collision at around 9:55 a.m.

The incident happened when a truck was making a left turn on Hope Street to Bolsa Avenue. Westminster police said at the same time, a female pedestrian was crossing the street.

For an unknown reason, the vehicle struck the 72-year-old woman as she walked from north to south inside a designated crosswalk.

Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived and found the victim lying unconscious on the ground. She sustained major head trauma as a result of the accident.

Medical personnel soon pronounced the woman dead at the scene. Her name has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.

Meanwhile, CHP added that the driver of the truck stopped and stayed at the site following the incident. Officers forced the area of Hope and Bolsa to shut down for a time after the collision.

The cause of the fatal Westminster pedestrian crash is still under investigation. Anyone with information can call the police at (714) 548-3788.
