1 Killed in Hit-and-Run Collision Near Santa Monica Boulevard
Westwood, CA (April 12, 2022) – A pedestrian died following a suspected hit-and-run crash that occurred on 405 Freeway, the ABC7 News reported.
Our sources indicated a male party was seen walking on the shoulder of the freeway Monday night. In the area near Santa Monica Boulevard, a vehicle apparently struck the pedestrian. The collision took place shortly after 10:30 p.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident on 405 Freeway in Westwood
When rescue teams arrived, they found a man lying on the ground. Paramedics performed life-saving measures to the victim, but he sadly succumbed to his injuries and died. Authorities only identified the deceased as a 66-year-old man.
Meanwhile, officers mentioned the driver involved in the catastrophic incident fled the scene. Initial investigation revealed the suspect vehicle appeared to be a white Toyota sedan. At this time, detectives continue to gather information to locate the hit-and-run suspect.
Several factors surrounding the fatal crash remained unclear. Further investigation is ongoing on the deadly accident on 405 Freeway in Westwood.
