WESTWOOD, California (September 9, 2016) — A male pedestrian believed to be in his 30s was struck and killed early Friday morning when he or she was hit by a semi-tractor trailer truck on the Interstate 405 Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol reports.
The fatality was reported about 1 a.m. this morning. The individual was struck down in the southbound lanes near the Wilshire Boulevard exit. Police closed down a portion of the freeway, but it reopened about 4:30 a.m.
The cause of the crash and liability are under investigation by police.
