1 Killed in Head-On Crash Highway 65 Near Wheatland Road
WHEATLAND, CA (November 20, 2021) – A crash killed at least one person on Highway 65 in the city of Wheatland.
According to the KCRA News and FOX 40 News, the tragic accident took place on Saturday morning. Officers reported the wreck shortly after 5:30 a.m.
A California Highway Patrol dispatch said a white sedan and a motorcycle collided head-on for an unknown reason. The two crashed on the southbound side of Highway 65 near Wheatland Road.
Motorcycle and Car Collide in Wheatland
Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and extricated one trapped occupant from the car. They also found the motorcyclist lying on the ground.
Medical personnel confirmed that one individual died as a result of the collision. The name of the deceased victim has not been yet released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, CHP forced Highway 65 to shut down in both directions near State Street for hours following the wreck. The cause of the fatal Wheatland is still under investigation.
