Pedestrian Hit and Injured by On-Duty Officer at E Street Bridge Wednesday
Wheatland, CA (July 22, 2021) – A pedestrian accident involving an on-duty police officer occurred on the E Street Bridge on July 21, Wednesday.
The CBS Sacramento reported a Wheatland police officer was coming back from Marysville at about 11 p.m. When the deputy approached the E Street Bridge, a pedestrian reportedly stepped into traffic. The officer apparently failed to stop and struck the pedestrian.

When medical personnel arrived at the site, they immediately rendered aid to the injured individual. According to the article published online, an ambulance arrived and rushed the patient to the hospital for treatment. Additional details on the patient have not been discussed thus far.
The Wheatland police officer appeared unharmed after the incident.
