APPLE VALLEY, California (May 26, 2016) – A 53-year-old man in a wheelchair was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Navajo Road just south of Nisqually Road, according to an article by VVNG.
The accident happened on May 25 just before midnight.
As per the article, a wheelchair-bound man was traveling north on Navajo when he was struck from behind by a Chevy Silverado driven by 53-year-old Randy Gudgeon.
Gudgeon hit his brakes upon collision and reported the incident. Responding officers located a wrecked wheelchair and a male body in dark clothes several feet away from the point of impact. The wheelchair-bound man sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gudgeon cooperated with the investigation.
The name of the deceased victim has not been released at this time pending notification of the victim’s family members.
