1 Injured in Whitewater Crash on Interstate 10 Near Haugen Lehmann
WHITEWATER, CA (March 23, 2023) – One was hospitalized after a crash on the Interstate 10 near Haugen Lehmann Way in Whitewater.
According to The Desert Sun and KESQ News, the accident took place on Thursday afternoon. Officers reported the wreck on March 23 at around 2:15 p.m.
The incident happened when three big rigs collided for an unknown reason in Whitewater. The semi-trucks crashed on the eastbound Interstate 10, west of Haugen Lehmann Way.
Multiple Big Rigs Collide
One person ended up trapped inside a big rig as a result of the collision. Firefighters along with the paramedics soon arrived at the scene and freed the victim from the wreckage.
Medical personnel then rushed the patient to a hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. The report did not release the name of the wounded party and their condition at this time.
Meanwhile, officers forced the eastbound lanes of the Interstate 10 to shut down near Haugen following the wreck. The cause of the Whitewater crash is still under investigation.
