Gilberto Avila-Adame, 40, Hit and Killed by Car in Whitewater
WHITEWATER (March 12, 2020) – A fatal traffic collision along the Interstate 10 Freeway left several people injured on Thursday afternoon.
The California Highway Patrol said 35-year-old Aaron Oliver of Avondale, Arizona, was one of the wounded parties in the tragic accident.
According to an article published by The Desert Sun, the incident began when an officer responded to a call about two solo-car incidents at around 2 p.m. on the eastbound 10 Freeway.
The officer called for a tow truck to recover a Toyota Prius involved, east of Whitewater Road. Officials reported that a man was later seen standing on the right shoulder of the freeway near a tow truck.

Officials affirmed that Oliver, who was allegedly traveling at an unsafe speed, then approached the scene and in the process lost control of his Chrysler Sebring.
He drifted onto the right shoulder and collided with the tow truck, before ultimately hitting the man waiting beside it. The victim suffered major injuries upon impact.
Paramedics rushed him to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs where he died. Riverside County Coroner’s Office identified him as 40-year-old Gilberto Avila-Adame, of Yucca Valley.
Medical personnel transported Oliver and his passengers to the hospital with minor wounds. The names of the other patients and their condition were not disclosed.
Meanwhile, the deadly accident remains under investigation.
