WHITTIER, California (May 5, 2016) –A 4-year-old boy and an 18-year-old were injured early Thursday morning when a hit-and-run driver crashed into their home on Ramsey Drive, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash took place about 12:15 a.m. this morning in this unincorporated neighborhood near Whittier. The driver of a Nissan 350Z was reportedly speeding on Marquardt Avenue approaching a turn in the roadway when he lost control of the car and crashed through a wall of the home. The vehicle landed on top of the little boy who was lying in bed.
Los Angeles County firefighters responded and pulled the boy out from under the car and transported him to a local hospital for treatment as he was suffering from pain after he was pulled out. An 18-year-old boy who was also in the room suffered cuts on his arm.
Police say the driver and a passenger in the Nissan fled the scene of the crash and they are searching for them. Anyone with information about the suspects may call police at 562-868-0503.
