Martinez Dies after Station Wagon Backs Out of Parking, Hits Him
The coroner’s office identified the victim as Armando Martinez, of Pico Rivera.
As per the article, police said around 8:17 a.m., a 44-year-old woman was backing out of a parking spot and failed to see Martinez. The Ford station wagon knocked down the 74-year-old man who then hit his head.
Martinez was immediately taken to PIH Health hospital where he succumbed to his injuries Friday at 9:10 a.m.
Meanwhile, police added that the female driver is a vendor at the farmers market located at 7021 Bright Avenue.
The incident remains under investigation.
