1 Killed in Whittier Crash on Northbound 605 Freeway Near Rose Hills Road
WHITTIER, CA (June 25, 2021) – One was killed after a crash on the 605 Freeway near Rose Hills Road in Whittier.
The California Highway Patrol said at least five vehicles, including a big rig, collided for an unknown reason. They crashed in the northbound lanes of the 605 Freeway near the Rose Hills Road off-ramp.
Cars and Big Rig Collide in Whittier
One of the vehicles involved rolled over upon impact. Firefighters along with the paramedics arrived at the scene and then confirmed that one person died as a result of the collision.
The name of the deceased victim remains unreleased pending notification of next of kin. The report did not mention if any other parties sustained injuries after the wreck.
Meanwhile, CHP forced the northbound lanes of the 605 Freeway near Rose Hills to shut down following the collision. The cause of the fatal Whittier crash is still under investigation.
