3 Injured in Hit-and-Run Rollover
DATE OF COLLISION: Tuesday, June 5th
June 6, 2018– According to the Whittier Daily News, three people were injured following a hit-and-run collision last night at the intersection of Whittier Boulevard and Santa Gertrudes Avenue.
At roughly 9:54 p.m., authorities responded to the scene of a 2-car crash where a vehicle was hit from the rear causing it to overturn coming to rest of its roof.
All three occupants inside who have not been identified suffered moderate injuries and were hospitalized, according to the Whittier Daily News.
Meanwhile, the driver who struck the vehicle from behind drove a short distance before parking the vehicle and taking off on foot fleeing the scene.
The passenger of the vehicle remained inside and was not arrested by Whittier police.
Jaime Ruvalcaba, 22, Arrested
Authorities were eventually able to locate the suspect identified as Jaime Ruvalcaba, 22, of Los Angeles. He has since been arrested and remains jailed on $50,000 bail.
