United States Postal Worker Attacked on Mail Route by Pit Bull Mix Dog
WHITTIER, California (Jan. 16, 2019) – A female mail carrier was attacked by a loose Pit Bull mix-breed dog Tuesday afternoon in the 15800 block of La Forge Street.
The woman suffered bite wounds on her face in the attack about 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 15th.
The United States Postal Service mail carrier was delivering mail on her route when the dog reportedly knocked her over and mauled her. It’s unknown what made the dog stop, but the owner did eventually retrieve the animal.
Firefighter paramedics responded and treated the mail carrier and then transported her to a local hospital.
Police questioned all parties involved about what happened including the dog’s owner.
Pit Bull Attack Investigation
At this time, police are investigating the attack and while there are no pending criminal charges, a civil claim could be brought against the owner as well as other entities responsible.
